What is this?
Plunge milling as a real Fusion toolpath.
Plunge milling is not a strategy in Fusion. The usual workaround is to abuse a drilling cycle with hand-placed points, which gives you one single depth for the whole operation and a straight retract that rubs the wall you have just cut.
Sirokuma Plunge generates a real plunging toolpath instead. Each plunge is plunge down → step aside → retract → move to the next position. The depth follows the actual floor at every position, and the spacing is derived from the cutting load rather than typed in.
Who this is for
Anyone who roughs deep walls or deep pockets with an indexable plunge cutter, and is tired of the drilling-cycle workaround (one depth for everything, retracts that rub the wall).
How to use
- In the Manufacture workspace, open the 2D menu of your milling setup and click “Sirokuma Plunge”
- The standard Trace dialog opens. Select the geometry, the tool, feeds and heights, then press OK
- In the Sirokuma dialog, enter the insert width (required), review the other settings and press OK – the toolpath is generated
Features
- Select an edge along a wall → plunges run along the wall (one row, or several rows with the region width)
- Select a closed boundary (a chain of edges or a face outline) → the enclosed area is filled
- Select the top circle of a hole → through plunging in that hole
- The floor is measured, not assumed: each plunge stops at the highest point under the tool + your floor stock (follows radii, slopes and steps)
- Engagement %: the next plunge is placed where the freshly cut area matches the target (the pitch is a result, not an input)
- Side clearance move: the tool steps away from the wall before it retracts (the drilling-cycle workaround cannot)
- Respects the non-cutting center of indexable cutters: the center always sits over cut material or air
- Entry: use an existing pilot hole, or let the add-in ramp in (helical or zigzag)
- Optional finishing pass for slots as a separate, ordinary Fusion operation

- I understand that this product is a Fusion add-in that creates plunge-milling toolpaths in the Autodesk Fusion Manufacture workspace, where each plunge is plunge down, step aside, retract and move to the next position.
- I understand that the supported tools are flat-bottom tools (such as face mills, flat end mills and high-feed cutters), that I enter the insert width myself for indexable cutters, and that a milling setup in the Manufacture workspace is required.
- I will always check the generated toolpath myself, for example with the Fusion simulation, before using it on a machine. I agree not to use it for machining without checking.
- I understand that I need Windows and Autodesk Fusion separately, and that I will provide my own Fusion subscription at my own cost.
- I understand that changes to Fusion or Windows, or outages or discontinuation of those services, may cause this product to stop working or behave differently, and that the seller cannot prevent this.
- One license key works on one PC only. It may stop working if I replace or repair my PC or reinstall Windows.
- I will not transfer, lend, share or distribute the license key or the downloaded files. I will not modify, analyze or redistribute the contents.
- There is no warranty. I understand that fixes, updates and answers to inquiries are not promised (when a fix is ready, we may tell you inside the Product when it starts). I understand that bug reports must be sent through the contact form with the license key and a description of the problem, that a Fusion file (.f3d) that reproduces the problem must then be attached to a reply to our email, and that reports without both the license key and the .f3d file cannot be accepted.
- I understand that a monthly or yearly plan renews automatically until I cancel, and that the same amount is paid through PayPal each time. If the price changes, you will tell me by email in advance.
- I will cancel by myself from “Automatic payments” in my PayPal account. I understand that after cancelling I can keep using the Product until the end of the period I have paid for.
- While payments continue, the Product checks my license over the internet and automatically extends the date until which it can be used. I understand that if I cancel, if a payment fails, or if my PC stays offline for a long time, the Product stops working after that date.
- Because this is a digital product, no returns, refunds or cancellations are accepted for periods already paid. I agree that this also applies if “it was not what I expected” or “I no longer use it”.
- I agree that, except in cases of intent or gross negligence, the seller’s liability is limited to the amount I paid.
