What is this?

Deburr the rim of CROSS holes – the ones the standard Trace cannot reach.

A cross hole (a radial hole through a pipe or a shaft) has a rim that is a saddle-shaped 3D curve, and the tool has to reach it sideways with its neck running close to the wall. Sirokuma Cross-Hole Trace computes that whole motion for you. It finds the hole axis from the geometry, builds the toolpath in that hole coordinate system, and computes the orbit radius from the actual contact between the ball and the rim.

Who this is for

People who deburr the rim of radial holes in pipes or shafts with a lollipop mill, where the standard Trace cannot reach the saddle-shaped rim or the neck hits the wall.

How to use

  • In the Manufacture workspace, open the 2D menu of your milling setup and click “Sirokuma Cross-Hole Trace”
  • The real standard Trace dialog opens. Select ONE rim edge of the cross hole, your lollipop mill, feeds and heights as usual, then press OK (the add-in never changes spindle speed or feeds)
  • In the Sirokuma dialog, review the dedicated settings and press OK – the toolpath is generated (orbit, helical ramp, pass along the saddle-shaped rim, return to the start angle and retract)
  • Simulate it and confirm the neck clears the wall everywhere
  • To edit later, double-click the operation in the browser tree (the same two dialogs open with your values)

Features

  • Automatic hole axis detection: the axis comes from the adjacent cylindrical wall, so there is nothing to align by hand
  • Contact-based orbit radius, computed from the ball radius, the shank radius and the wall clearance
  • Follows the saddle-shaped rim in 3D; Mobius compensation keeps the chamfer width uniform around the rim
  • Outer-diameter rims supported: chamfer the rim on the outside of a pipe as well (inside/outside detected automatically; change it if the guess is wrong)
  • The dialog shows how much your tool and clearance will cut (for example “C0.54”)
  • XY-Plane Bulge and Z-Axis Bulge for fine-tuning the cut at the shallow parts of the rim
  • Orbit Radius Adjustment for direct shop-floor tuning
  • Tool contact position by clock value, and clockwise / counter-clockwise
  • Helical ramp with pitch and start distance, or “Shortest Approach” for a short ramp
  • Spindle/feed pairs (rpm <-> surface speed, feed <-> feed per tooth) stay linked in the dialog
  • The standard part stays 100% standard: tool, feeds and heights are edited in the normal Trace dialog, and the operation regenerates like any other

Please read before buying

  • This add-in is for LOLLIPOP MILLS. With any other tool type the operation is rejected with a message
  • ONE EDGE PER OPERATION. For the opposite side of the same hole, create a second operation
  • TOOL LENGTH IS MEASURED AT THE BALL BOTTOM. The output path is therefore offset downward by the ball radius, and in the Fusion simulation the ball appears one radius lower than the path. That is correct and matches how the tool is set on the machine
  • YOU DO NOT SET THE CHAMFER SIZE DIRECTLY. The shank is brought as close to the wall as the clearance allows, and whatever the ball bites into the rim at that position is the chamfer. If that is not enough, increase Orbit Radius Adjustment. The cut is made by the ball, so the face is rounded, not a flat 45-degree bevel

Shop-floor tuning

  • The tool rubs the wall -> increase “Shank Clearance from Wall”
  • The chamfer is too small -> increase “Orbit Radius Adjustment”

  1. I understand that this product is a Fusion add-in that creates, in the Autodesk Fusion Manufacture workspace, a toolpath that deburrs the rim of a cross hole (a hole whose axis is perpendicular to the tool axis, such as a radial hole through a pipe or a shaft).
  2. I understand that the Product is for lollipop mills only; with any other tool it shows a message and does not create the toolpath. A milling setup in the Manufacture workspace is required.
  3. I understand that only one rim edge can be selected per operation, and that the opposite side of the same hole needs a second operation.
  4. I understand that the tool length is measured at the ball bottom, so the toolpath is offset downward by the ball radius and the ball appears one radius lower than the path in the Fusion simulation, and that this is correct.

  6. I will always check the generated toolpath myself, for example with the Fusion simulation (including that the neck clears the wall), before using it on a machine. I agree not to use it for machining without checking.
  7. I understand that I need Windows and Autodesk Fusion separately, and that I will provide my own Fusion subscription at my own cost.
  8. I understand that changes to Fusion or Windows, or outages or discontinuation of those services, may cause this product to stop working or behave differently, and that the seller cannot prevent this.
  9. One license key works on one PC only. It may stop working if I replace or repair my PC or reinstall Windows.
  10. I will not transfer, lend, share or distribute the license key or the downloaded files. I will not modify, analyze or redistribute the contents.
  11. There is no warranty. I understand that fixes, updates and answers to inquiries are not promised (when a fix is ready, we may tell you inside the Product when it starts). I understand that bug reports must be sent through the contact form with the license key and a description of the problem, that a Fusion file (.f3d) that reproduces the problem must then be attached to a reply to our email, and that reports without both the license key and the .f3d file cannot be accepted.
  12. I understand that a monthly or yearly plan renews automatically until I cancel, and that the same amount is paid through PayPal each time. If the price changes, you will tell me by email in advance.
  13. I will cancel by myself from “Automatic payments” in my PayPal account. I understand that after cancelling I can keep using the Product until the end of the period I have paid for.
  14. While payments continue, the Product checks my license over the internet and automatically extends the date until which it can be used. I understand that if I cancel, if a payment fails, or if my PC stays offline for a long time, the Product stops working after that date.
  15. Because this is a digital product, no returns, refunds or cancellations are accepted for periods already paid. I agree that this also applies if “it was not what I expected” or “I no longer use it”.
  16. I agree that, except in cases of intent or gross negligence, the seller’s liability is limited to the amount I paid.
  17. I am 18 or older (or, if I am under 18, I have the consent of a parent or guardian).
  18. I have read and understood everything on the product page and on this screen, including the terms of sale, and I agree to it before buying.
